Get Six Treatments-In-One, With A London HydraFacial

25 April 2022 by Omniya Clinic

Can we let you in on a secret? There’s a lot of great treatments available at our London clinic but for quite a few of our team, our absolute go-to recommend is the HydraFacial.

It’s an incredible machine that uses several different technologies to deliver a whole range of best-in-class facial treatments, including glycolic acid peel and LED light therapy. You’re effectively getting six treatments in one, which makes the HydraFacial really cost-effective.

With such a versatile machine, there’s a lot of different combinations of treatment available, depending on what you need. You can just have a couple of the options on offer, or you can combine Hydrafacial treatments with radiofrequency or microneedling for truly astonishing results.

A typical Hydrafacial treatment might go something like this.

Step 1 – Lymphatic Drainage.

Using the first of six specialised tools or ‘tips’, we apply suction directionally to areas of the face, targeting the lymphatic system to ensure that toxins and waste stored in the deep facial tissues can be released.

This deep tissue treatment improves circulation and removes the toxins that contribute to acne. It also eases the build-up of unwanted fluid and pressure in your sinuses, leaving you feeling as light as a feather.

Step 2 – Active Botanical Exfoliation.

Using active botanicals as a natural cleansing agent, the second tip provides a general exfoliation to remove dead skin cells, and any dirt or bacteria that might be clogging your pores.

Step 3 – Acid Peel.

The third tip provides an acid peel, which works by dissolving lipids. Lipids are fats or other organic compounds that don’t dissolve in water. Over time, these lipids build up and create clusters of dead skin cells that block the pores. They can be removed by an acid peel as part of a process known as desquamation.

During our initial consultation, we’ll assess your skin sensitivity so we can choose the right solution for your needs. A glycolic acid peel is the most effective approach for the majority of skin types – however, for sensitive skin a salicylic acid peel will often work best.

Step 4 – Pore Extraction.

The fourth stage is, for many people, where the magic happens. Like Step 1, suction is used, but this time the focus is on deep cleaning the pores. It’s fantastic for blackhead extraction (we also offer this as a full back service), and it extracts quite surprising amounts of dirt, oils and lipids that are beyond the reach of most facial treatments.

Step 5 – Hydrafacial serums and hydration.

Now the cleaning is complete, it’s time to introduce some of the good stuff. Here at Omniya we use a combination of OBAGI Skin Care booster serums, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and antioxidants, tailored to your skin type and facial needs.

The specialist tip introduces the nutrients and hydrating agents directly into your clean, open pores to keep your skin fresh and nourished for even longer.

Step 6 – LED light therapy.

Just to finish you off, the final stage of the Hydrafacial process uses a combination of different LED light therapies – red light is used to stimulate collagen production, plumping and firming the skin. Then the blue LED light is used to kill various bacteria (including p-acne bacteria) and to calm inflammation, allowing the skin to better protect itself after the treatment.
