      • Omniya's Dr Tu Lin was recommended to me by a friend who has the most incredible skin and lips. Obviously, I had to try. She is such a caring doctor, and went out of her way. I've had lip fillers in the past with others, but now I've been to Omniya I doubt I need to go anywhere else. I love my new lips. Omniya Clinic is without fail the best place for lip fillers in London! Thank you! - Nora

Great clinic. Had the designer lip filler with Dr Thu Linh and my lips look fantastic, they look natural too which I was worried about! Great team! - Vanessa

If you are thinking of going on Hormone Replacement Therapy I would highly recommend Dr Sohere Roked. She is the best doctor I have ever met. She listens and understands her patients (I know because my 2 sisters also see her) Her approach is different to other doctors as she is a trained psychologist - She understands the balance between hormone therapy and mental health. She has honestly saved my life! - Meridith

      • I was having trouble with my acne for a while. I had been to a few clinics before Omniya but didn't get the results I wanted.

Omniya was recommended and had great reviews. I saw Kerry Lou, one of their skin specialist. She explained that with the right treatment and a little patience I would see results. I brought a course of facials. Each one is slightly different depending on what is needed. I'm very happy with the improvement. - Shayma

Great experience overall. The hormone doctor is phenomenal and has helped me a great deal. I wont go into too much detail but she has helped me in all aspects of my life. LED Light Therapy Treatment Information

        What is LED light therapy?

LED stands for light-emitting diode. This is a type of therapy that has grown in popularity lately, as it promotes anti-ageing effects, reduces inflammation, and treats acne. It uses different degrees of LED wavelengths, depending on the skin issue. Light is used in the visible spectrum, including red, amber, yellow, and blue, as well as beyond the visible spectrum, so that different depths of the skin are penetrated. The great thing about this treatment is that it is adapted to suit your specific skin goals, for example, blue tends to be used for acne treatment, whereas red light is usually used for anti-ageing.

Did you know that LED light therapy was used by Navy SEALs?

LED light therapy has long been used to help with skin conditions. In fact, it was first used in the 1990s by U.S. Navy SEALs to help heal wounds quickly, regenerating the damaged muscle tissues. Since then, LED light therapy has been researched for various aesthetic situations. It is mainly noted for increasing tissues and collagen. This can smooth your skin, helping to reduce the appearance of damage from wrinkles, acne, and age spots.

The benefits of LED light therapy

Each frequency of light is going to target specific areas, therefore, solving specific skin conditions. This type of therapy is mainly noted for the following benefits:

        • Regulates the natural oil production of the skin
        • Lowers the appearance of age spots and wrinkles
        • Treats acne
        • Smoothens the skin
        • Restores damaged tissues and cells
        • Stimulates elastin and collagen production

How does LED light therapy work?

LED light devices typically come with different wavelengths of light, including red, amber, green, yellow, and blue, which the receptors in the skin can absorb. The light will act as a source of energy, which can catalyse the renewal of tissues in your skin. Each spectrum or colour will correspond to a certain target treatment in your skin. The depths of the penetration will also dictate the different biological effects.

        Blue LED light therapy

Blue light therapy is used to target the sebaceous glands, which are also known as the oil glands. They are found underneath your hair follicles. Oil glands are required to lubricate the hair and skin so that it does not dry out. Nevertheless, these glands can become too active, leading to acne and oil skin. Blue LED light therapy is able to target these sebaceous glands, making them less active. This can result in a person experiencing a lower number of acne breakouts. Blue light can also kill bacteria underneath the skin that causes acne. This can help to treat nodules, cysts, and other types of severe acne pimples.

        Red LED light therapy

Red light, also known as infrared light, is used to treat the outer layer of the skin – the epidermis. When the light is applied to the skin, it is absorbed by the epidermis, which then stimulates collagen proteins. The increased collagen will result in your skin looking fuller and smoother, which can result in the reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Red LED light will reduce inflammation while also giving you a healthier glow by boosting circulation.

Sometimes both red and blue LED light therapy will be used together to promote anti-inflammatory effects, decrease scarring, and help to treat acne.

        White LED light therapy

Also called near infra-red light, white LED light therapy has the longest wavelength. Because of this, it can penetrate the deepest into the skin. This way, you can make sure that your skin looks radiant while also staying healthy too, which is just what you want when seeking any sort of skin treatment! There are many different benefits that are associated with white LED light therapy. This includes clearing dark spots and sun damage, reducing inflammation, tightening the skin, and healing acne scars.

        Yellow LED light therapy

This type of LED light can be used to infiltrate the further depths of your skin, targeting the cells’ light receptors. This can be your greatest weapon for combating wrinkles and fine lines, and other factors that show ageing. This form of light therapy can also be used to minimise redness and improve circulation on your skin.

        Green LED light therapy

We also have green LED light therapy. This is the perfect beauty solution if you have any form of skin discolouration. This includes dark circles, sun spots, broken capillaries, and hyperpigmentation. This form of therapy will even out your skin tone, which results in a stunning complexion that you will be proud to show off. With this form of therapy, the epidermis’ bottom layer is going to be targeted, specifically the cells that produce melanin. It works through prohibiting the development of excess melanin.

        Preparation of LED light therapy

When you book an appointment for LED light therapy, you will be asked to wear some protective goggles. We will provide you with these, of course! The purpose of the goggles is to make sure the light does not cause any damage to your eyes. It is also important to remove all of your makeup before your treatment. We simply recommend not wearing any at all. However, if you’re going to work or you need to wear makeup before your appointment, please make sure that this is all removed before you have your LED light therapy.

The cost of LED light therapy

The cost of this treatment is going to depend on the area of skin that is being treated. You can also combine this with other treatments, which can also have an impact on the price. This is why the best thing to do is give us a call and book a consultation. We will be able to give you our expert advice on the best treatment for you and we can provide you with a price for the service. There is no obligation to continue with the treatment if you don’t want to.

A safe treatment – Complete peace of mind with LED therapy

A lot of people are concerned about safety when it comes to getting any sort of treatment, and rightly so. However, you have nothing to worry about with LED therapy. Unlike other forms of light therapy, ultraviolet rays are not found within LEDs, and they are, therefore, safe for regular use. This type of light therapy cannot cause burns, as can sometimes happen with other anti-ageing treatments. It is also a treatment that is safe for all skin types and colours.

When is LED light facial therapy not recommended?

While this is a safe treatment, there are cases whereby LED light therapy is not recommended. If you have the following conditions, LED light therapy is probably not going to be right for you…

        • Pregnancy
        • Cancer
        • Haemorrhage
        • Eye conditions
        • Epilepsy
        • Seizures
        • Migraines
        • Active rash

It is also not advisable for patients who use isotretinoin or Accutane for acne. This drug can make your skin very sensitive to light, which could potentially result in scarring. Other medications that may impact your exposure to LED light therapy include steroids or tetracycline.

If you’re unsure as to whether LED light therapy is right for you, one of our experienced and friendly practitioners will be able to help you out. They will be able to tell you whether or not this treatment is the correct one for your skin condition. Don’t worry if it is not; we offer a range of different therapies and treatments, so we will be able to make our recommendations on the right on for you.

        LED Light Therapy FAQ’s

There are some medications that do not sit well with LED light therapy. For example, you should not have this treatment if you take Accutane. The best thing to do is to speak with one of our specialists who will advise on whether or not this treatment is right for you.

The procedure will typically take around 20 minutes at a time. You will usually have this treatment once a week for a period of around ten weeks. After this, you will only need to have treatment once every few months.

There are a lot of DIY kits available today. However, we do not recommend using these. You’re not going to be able to achieve your desired results if you’ve not had training and do not know how to target skin problems effectively.

Light therapy can start to improve your skin condition within a matter of a few days. For some people, though, it can take several weeks, so do not be alarmed if you do not see results right away.

Unlike other forms of lighting, LED does not emit polluting radiation. Therefore, LED light will not pose a health hazard. This is why it is considered one of the safest skin treatments.

You cannot ‘overdose’ on this treatment. However, it is critical that you follow the recommendations that your practitioner provides regarding the number of treatments that you should have.

We tend to recommend green light therapy for pigmentation. The best thing to do, though, is to book a consultation. We will be able to assess your skin and listen to your skin goals. We can then make our recommendations based on this.

No – light therapy does not use UV light, and so there is no risk of your skin colour changing.

No, LED light therapy does not hurt, as it is a fully non-invasive treatment. All you are going to feel is a little bit of warmth.

Light therapy is great for all skin types! It is especially beneficial for rosacea.

LED light therapy can cause damage to the eyes. This is why we will always provide you with goggles to wear during your treatment. This will ensure that you do not experience any problems with your eyes because of the treatment. This is another reason why it is not advisable to do this treatment at home. We have also found that some goggles are insufficient for the purpose, so we recommend caution.
