More information about genomic testing

DNA skin

If you want to learn how to benefit from youthful-looking skin, which is healthier too, then DNA Skin is the perfect test for you. This test will determine everything about your genetics to learn how your DNA handles potentially destructive exposure to UV rays. Based on the results of this test, personalised cosmeceutical, nutraceutical, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations can be given for improved skin care and to reduce visible signs of ageing. This will involve tests for 19 different gene variations involved in inflammation, antioxidant status, sun damage, protection and repair, sun sensitivity and pigmentation, and firmness and elasticity.

DNA mind

Genetic variations can also contribute toward the risk of developing a mental health disorder. Genomic testing can help you understand treatment, diagnosis, and prevention. With this test, 30 different genes will be analysed that have been shown to have considerable links with key mental health disorders. There are four key areas that can be reported on. The first is mood disorders such as post-traumatic stress, anxiety, bipolar, and depression. The second is adrenaline-seeking disorders, including risk-taking behaviour. The third is addictive behaviour. This will help you to understand the risk of opioid, cannabis, nicotine, and alcohol dependence, as well as eating disorders and the psychosis response from cannabis use. The fourth is neurodegenerative disorders, including cognitive decline, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.

DNA diet

Another genomic test that we can conduct is the DNA diet test. This is carried out to help you design a personalised healthy eating plan that is based on your genetic differences. You will learn about how you react to exercise, saturated fats, and carbohydrates. This means that we are able to put together an eating plan for you that is scientifically proven to work. A number of different gene variations are tested. This includes those that impact carbohydrate and fat storage, as well as absorption and metabolism. It is all about understanding how your genetic profile is going to impact your response to a specific eating plan.

DNA health

This genomic test is ideal for those who want to live their healthiest life, and who wouldn’t want to do this? It is designed to help you identify any potential diseases, ensuring your health and well-being is optimised through personalised diet and lifestyle choices. We will work with you to ensure that you understand the optimal nutrition that is required for disease risk mitigation, longevity, and good health. There are 36 different variants that are involved in biological processes that are linked to risks for lifestyle diseases. This includes looking at food responsiveness, including iron overload disorders, blood pressure, salt sensitivity, caffeine processing, and lactose intolerance. Testing also includes insulin sensitivity and risk for diabetes, detoxification, inflammation and oxidative stress, the risk for cancer and methylation, the risk for osteoporosis and bone health, and cholesterol metabolism.

DNA oestrogen

Oestrogen gene testing can help you to determine whether you are at risk of breast cancer, as well as lowering the risk of undetected cancers. This test is especially important for women who have been diagnosed with oestrogen receptor-positive breast cancer, in-vitro fertilisation, bio-identical supplementation, hormone replacement therapy, and oral contraceptives.

DNA sport

The effectiveness of sporting performance and training is impacted by key biological areas. At Omniya, we can ensure you have a training strategy that is personalised and optimised to your genetic potential. We will help you to determine the correct environmental, nutrition, and lifestyle interactions that will optimally express your genetic potential. There are a number of different areas that are going to be reported on when undergoing this type of genomic testing. This includes strength/power potential, aerobic capacity, bone and muscle composition, caffeine metabolism, fuel during exercise, energy during exercise, respiration and blood flow, oxidative stress and inflammation, and structural integrity of soft tissues.
