Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT): A patient's journey with Dr Sohere Roked

My Journey

I came to see Dr Sohere Roked after I had read her book “The Tiredness Cure”. A friend of mine who had been seeing Dr Sohere Roked for Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) insisted I see her too. I was feeling tired and it was affecting me both physically and mentally.

Having recently turned forty, I decided to pay a bit more attention to my health, changing my diet, start exercising and also look at my health. Since youth was no longer on my side I had to take matters into my own hands.

Dr Sohere Roked approach is very flexible. Essentially she recommended treating me holistically but she is also not afraid to use or recommend direct intervention when necessary.

After an in depth discussion and some detailed blood tests Dr Sohere Roked prescribed Testosterone, DHEA and high strength Vitamin D. Testosterone is the male hormone. It's what makes men “men” on a biological/chemical level. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is what taking testosterone is called.

Medication

I discussed the different options of TRT with Dr Sohere Roked. You can use injections, capsules, lozenges cream or gels. It’s very individual and depends on factors like lifestyle and practicality. I decided to go for a bioidentical testosterone cream that’s applied to the scrotum. It’s a very effective way of getting a constant daily dose of TRT with few side effects. Its also very easy to administer.

Since testosterone is a naturally occurring hormone, using TRT under medical supervision is safe – the body is not adapting or processing an alien substance.

The DHEA is a pro-hormone. I’m not sure exactly how it works but I think it helps the body produce vital hormones needed for healthy function. It’s difficult to get in the UK but its sold everywhere in the USA.

The high strength vitamin D was recommended because my levels were very low. Apparently this is very common. Good levels of vitamin D have been shown to help increase testosterone levels.

With the exercise and better diet I am feeling better than I have for years. Fit at forty, I like the sound of that.
