It is imperative to follow your doctor’s guidance on aftercare following a deep chemical peel. New skin should develop within 2 weeks, although you may experience spots, cysts or redness which can take a number of weeks to recover.
We recommend that our patients do not use any acne-fighting products or retinoids for at least five days prior to their visit. These sort of products are only going to increase the chance of experiencing a burn. The key here is skin rejuvenation; therefore, we don’t want the skin to be damaged further, and so there really is no need to continue with those products.
