PRP Therapy (Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy) is an excellent treatment that uses a small amount of your own blood to stimulate the production of collagen and new skin cells.
Blood contains cells, serums and platelets. PRP Therapy utilises these natural properties to assist the skin in appearing younger. Once we have taken a sample of your blood, it is spun through a machine to separate the cells, serums and platelets. The platelets are extracted and
injected into the area of treatment, causing a tiny amount of clotting around the injected area. This stimulates the release of growth factors, which causes the regeneration of new, healthier, firmer and more youthful skin tissue. The therapy can be used on any part of the body and is especially effective on: fine lines and wrinkles, loss of volume to the face, crow’s feet, dark circles, smoker’s lines, crepey neck and décolletage, and ageing hands.

What does the procedure involve?
A topical local anaesthetic is applied to numb the skin. A sample of blood is taken, and centrifuged. This separates the elements of your blood, and the platelets are then injected into the skin using a very fine needle. Multiple injections are needed to generate an overall improvement to the desired area(s).
Does PRP hurt?
A very mild stinging sensation may be felt.
What will my skin look like afterwards?
Immediately after the procedure, you may experience some bruising, swelling and/or redness at the injection sites. However, most patients find that the side effects disappear a few hours following the procedure.
What are the risks and complications?
All non-invasive treatments carry a small element of risk, which is why at Omniya we only carry out treatments after a face to face consultation, during which one of our experts will assess you, and detail the cautions and contradictions for the procedure.
How does PRP work for hair regrowth?
PRP contains growth factors and cytokines which have been proven to be responsible for stimulating and enhancing hair follicle function.
Mechanical microneedling is performed and small injections of the PRP, containing these powerful growth factors, are delivered into the skin at the level of weak hair follicles.
What other options are there?
There may be several treatments that could benefit you and your skin concerns, such as Dermal Fillers, Dermapen or Microneedling. At Omniya, your expert will analyse your concerns and advise you on the most suitable option(s).
