Mesotherapy is a skin rejuvenation treatment that has been clinically proven to fight natural sagging and ageing of the skin; whilst also improving the appearance of wrinkles. A bespoke blend of high doses of vitamin C, organic silicone and hyaluronic acid is administered in tiny injections throughout the treatment site to stimulate collagen, as well as hydrate and plump the skin. After treatment, the skin is left toned and rejuvenated – the perfect party treatment!
Mesotherapy, a treatment pioneered by Dr Michel Pistor in the 1950’s, was originally intended for pain relief, which has now evolved to combat signs of ageing by stimulating the fibroblast cell in the skin.
A mesotherapy treatment involves a series of small superficial injections of a potent rejuvenating cocktail of ingredients to the middle layer of skin (mesoderm). When this cocktail is injected, it promotes the production of collagen and elastin, whilst also stimulating the skin’s own metabolism.
Unlike topical treatments, which treat the top layer of the skin, Mesotherapy works internally to promote collagen, elastin and cellular turnover. Patients relay tighter feeling and more contoured skin following their mesotherapy treatments. While the skin metabolises at a faster rate, the skin tightens and the treatment area can look slimmer.
Mesotherapy gives your skin a brightening boost, making it feel firmer, as well as reducing the appearance of find lines and wrinkles. Mesotherapy treatments take approximately 30-60 minutes to administer.
Using the correct high quality ingredients, with advanced injection techniques at Omniya means that there is a significant improvement of the delivery of ingredients into the skin, which encourages the skin cells to function at their most optimum.
Treatments are expected to be slightly uncomfortable, and anesthetic can be used to manage this discomfort. Each patient’s treatment course can begin at 3 sessions, scheduled one month apart, with maintenance sessions throughout the year, as required.
The contraindications to a Mesotherapy treatment are limited, but allergies to components in the cocktails, pregnancy and breastfeeding, keloid scarring, active infections or malignancy need to be informed to your treating practitioner and the treatment to be rearranged.
Typical side effects for a Mesotherapy treatment include minimal bruising, swelling and marks from injections, which are short lived. Injection, allergies, scarring and pigmentation is rare.
